This policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage JapandiHaus uses. We keep it deliberately minimal: we use only what's needed to run the shop, and we do not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies.
What we use
Strictly necessary: a secure session cookie set when you sign in, so you stay logged in and the admin area is protected. The site can't function without it, so it doesn't require consent.
Functional (local storage): your basket, wishlist and recently-viewed items are kept in your browser's local storage so they persist between visits. This data stays on your device and is not a tracking cookie.
Payments: when you check out, our payment provider (Stripe) may set its own cookies on its hosted checkout to process the payment securely and prevent fraud. See Stripe's privacy and cookie notices for details.
What we don't use
No advertising or marketing cookies.
No third-party analytics or behavioural-tracking cookies.
We do not sell or share your browsing data.
Managing your choices
Because we only use strictly-necessary and functional storage, there's nothing non-essential to switch off. You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings; doing so will sign you out and empty your saved basket and wishlist.
If we ever introduce analytics or marketing cookies, we'll ask for your consent first via the cookie banner before any such cookies are set.
